Unchecked Erosion Costs You Land and Money

Wind and water strip soil, undercut slopes, and carry sediment into waterways. That risks lost property, unsafe banks, flooded yards, and damage to roads and sites. Stopgaps like ad-hoc riprap or failing barriers shift problems and invite rework. You need an approach that stabilizes soil, manages runoff, and fits the site so inspections pass and the shoreline or slope holds.

Why More Sites Choose Integrated Erosion Control?

Proven Methods

Compost and seed, hydroseed with control blends, dune grass planting, and SOX systems address a wide range of conditions.

Right Tool, Right Place

Geotextile tubes and sandbags add structure where energy is high, while vegetation locks soil for long term performance.

Clear Results

Stabilized banks, cleaner runoff, and fewer washouts mean better protection for homes, parks, and projects.

What Exactly Is Erosion Control?

Erosion control uses vegetation and engineered products to resist wind and water that move soil. It protects slopes, waterways, and job sites by establishing plant cover and adding structures that keep sediment in place.

Other Erosion Control Solutions Services

We understand Michigan slopes, shorelines, and stormwater

Erosion shows up on lake banks, ponds, steep grades, stream banks, and construction sites. Our team designs solutions that match site energy and access, then installs with specialty equipment.

We were early adopters of Express Blower in Michigan and install SOX systems for living shorelines. You get a plan that fits the site and a crew that delivers.

DIY erosion fixes vs partnering with Superior

Systems like SOX and large scale seeding require trained crews and purpose built equipment. DIY attempts often miss mix rates, anchoring, or coverage, which leads to failures and higher costs later. Our team installs correctly, documents work, and leaves a clean finish so protection lasts.

What are the steps to implement erosion control?

1. Assess the site
Identify erosion sources, slopes, water movement, soils, and access. Choose target zones that need protection.
2. Select the solution set
Vegetation based methods like compost and seed or hydroseed for coverage. Geotextile tubes, sandbags, or SOX for higher energy areas. Pair methods when needed.
3. Prepare the area
Grade as required, clear debris, and install any needed geotextile or anchors so systems work as designed.
4. Install and stabilize
Apply seed mixes, place tubes or SOX, and add dune grass or other vegetation where appropriate to lock soil and sand.
5. Monitor and maintain
Inspect after storms, add touch ups, and refresh vegetation where coverage thins.

I've been installing landscapes and hydroseeding my entire adult life. We hired this company for a very large and complicated project to blow compost. We had such a great experience we used them to hydromulch the site when we finished native seeding. They moved their schedule twice to meet conditions and were happy to do so. They were very professional, the crew was very polite, they went way above and beyond to make sure it was easy for us and our client. I cant say enough good about the people, the company, and the work. I look forward to getting to use them on another project in the future.

This company is amazing. They came out on Monday and did and amazing job. They prepared the lawn, removing a lot of rocks. They did an amazing job for erosion control. They were professional and communicated from the beginning. Tuesday, Buckets of rain. All the prep work, hydroseed washed away. Were the erosion mats were laid did exactly what it was supposed to do but no company can prepare for the amount of water that God released. Wednesday, I called and talked to Bill. Whom I had been in contact with from the beginning. Bill stopped by house, told me he had a truck in the area. A crew was out there fixing the yard and re-hydroseeded my yard without extra cost. I could not have been happier of their professionalism and customer service. I would highly recommend Superior if your in need of hydroseeding.

Can't recommend these guys enough. Called Terry on a short notice to try to get mulch in on a project that meant a lot to me. Even in their busiest time of year he managed to make it happen for me within the timeline I needed it. His guys were knowledgeable and very polite. They knew exactly how much mulch I was going to need to finish the project and got it done. They also blew the area spotless and even managed to clean up some of my mess in the process. All around 10/10 company and I wouldn't want to work with anyone else!

Barriers like seawalls block waves but need periodic replacement and can shift problems. Erosion control works with the land using vegetation and soft structures to prevent loss.

Hydroseeding helps on relatively flat areas and gradual slopes. Very steep dunes and slopes need other measures.

SOX products are embedded in the bank and function as a long term solution with low maintenance.

Costs vary by method and site. The page cites a Michigan range per acre for grass cover services and notes that inspections, prep, and obstacles affect final price.

Any site with bare soil or active water and wind forces. Beaches, loose soils, bare slopes, stream banks, and construction sites are common cases.
