Shoreline Erosion Control

Protect your shoreline with living systems that stabilize banks and blend into the landscape. We install SOX containment, fill it on site, and vegetate for immediate protection and long-term hold.

Each Season of Erosion Steals Shoreline and Value

Waves, wind, and fluctuating water levels undercut banks and send sediment into the water. Left alone, edges collapse, drop-offs form, and repairs grow more expensive. You need a solution that starts protecting right away, supports vegetation, and keeps the shoreline usable.

Why More Properties Choose SOX Shoreline Systems

Proven protection

Properly anchored SOX containment stabilizes the bank at the waterline and begins protecting as soon as it is installed.

Natural finish

Systems are filled with a custom substrate and vegetated to match the setting.

Lasting results

The installed system integrates into the shoreline for years of service.

What Exactly Is Shoreline Erosion Control

Shoreline erosion control prevents wind and water from degrading your bank. A constructed barrier filled with sediment material protects the edge, then vegetation grows through the system to lock it in place. SOX uses a double-layer knitted mesh that works with the environment.

We know your shoreline must be safe, stable, and natural

Homeowners, campuses, and municipalities need protection that looks right and performs. We review your site, recommend ShoreSOX or DredgeSOX based on conditions, and plan access so installation is efficient and tidy.

Our goal is a stable, vegetated edge and a clean site when we leave.

DIY fixes vs partnering with Superior

Hand placing rock or soil is labor heavy and rarely uniform. Without containment and anchoring, edges keep sloughing. Professional installation is faster and helps avoid mistakes so protection starts immediately and lasts longer.

"Superior protects more than lakefronts"

Inland lakes with receding banks
Streams and rivers where flow undercuts the edge
Ponds and stormwater basins that need stable shorelines

What are the steps to stabilize a shoreline?

1. Identify the problem area
Look for vertical cuts, sunken sections, and exposed roots to define scope.
2. Select the solution
Choose ShoreSOX or DredgeSOX based on site energy and water adjacency.
3. Prepare and deploy
Schedule MISS DIG for utility locates, find outlet pipes, clear debris, then install and anchor the SOX containment along the bank.
4. Fill and vegetate
Fill with a custom substrate, contour to the shoreline, then seed, plant, sod, or hydroseed so roots knit the system.
5. Assess and maintain
Monitor after storms and touch up thin spots as vegetation establishes.

I've been installing landscapes and hydroseeding my entire adult life. We hired this company for a very large and complicated project to blow compost. We had such a great experience we used them to hydromulch the site when we finished native seeding. They moved their schedule twice to meet conditions and were happy to do so. They were very professional, the crew was very polite, they went way above and beyond to make sure it was easy for us and our client. I cant say enough good about the people, the company, and the work. I look forward to getting to use them on another project in the future.

This company is amazing. They came out on Monday and did and amazing job. They prepared the lawn, removing a lot of rocks. They did an amazing job for erosion control. They were professional and communicated from the beginning. Tuesday, Buckets of rain. All the prep work, hydroseed washed away. Were the erosion mats were laid did exactly what it was supposed to do but no company can prepare for the amount of water that God released. Wednesday, I called and talked to Bill. Whom I had been in contact with from the beginning. Bill stopped by house, told me he had a truck in the area. A crew was out there fixing the yard and re-hydroseeded my yard without extra cost. I could not have been happier of their professionalism and customer service. I would highly recommend Superior if your in need of hydroseeding.

Also, his team was quick, efficient and professional. We would highly recommend working with this company for your hydroseeding project.

Can't recommend these guys enough. Called Terry on a short notice to try to get mulch in on a project that meant a lot to me. Even in their busiest time of year he managed to make it happen for me within the timeline I needed it. His guys were knowledgeable and very polite. They knew exactly how much mulch I was going to need to finish the project and got it done. They also blew the area spotless and even managed to clean up some of my mess in the process. All around 10/10 company and I wouldn't want to work with anyone else!

More About Shoreline Erosion Control

Shoreline Erosion Control - FAQs

Protection begins once the SOX system is installed and filled. Vegetation then adds strength.

Depending on conditions, we use native plants, seed, wildflowers, sod, or hydroseeding to blend with the site and stabilize the bank.

The system integrates into surrounding property and is designed to minimize disturbance. Once vegetated, it is not visible.

Anyone with property along a body of water where waves or runoff degrade the bank, including beaches and inland lakes.

Scope, access, and the amount of material required determine pricing. We confirm during estimating.
